Resumen

This work presents the comparative analysis of the operational and economic performance of Chillers Scroll, Screw, Centrifugal and Centrifugal Magnetic Levitation Chillers and Double Effect Absorption Chillers, in a thermal district of technical, economic and environmental feasibility. A database was made using different commercial capacities with similar models of each used technology, consumption, efficiency, OPEX and CAPEX. An operational performance analysis was carried out. It was concluded that compression technologies are more efficient when compared to absorption technologies. The average EER of compression technologies is 13.4 and the average EER in double effect is 4.1. It was concluded that the electric ones are 3.3 times more efficient than the double effect ones. From the economic point of view, comparing the price of each ton of refrigeration in the operations, it can be deduced that the most economically viable technology is the absorption technology with an average price of $4886.26 COP/TR against electric ones with an average price of $6946.86COP/TR. Finally, based on the cost-cost ratio, it was determined that the cost of gas for the systems to be comparable should be $207.5COP/kWh. Since, it is mentioned that the capacities are similar and it is not necessary to compare them for the equality of the $/TR ratio to be fulfilled.
