Abstract

The present work describes a numerical methodology for the solution of the equations that govern the process of percolation of paraffin. In addition to the momentum transfer,
the phenomenon presents mass transfer from a liquid phase to another solid one in transient state. The mathematical model is constituted by the continuitY equation, the Darcy's law, the equation of solute concen1ration in the liquid phase, the equation of solute concentration in the solid phase and the Isotherm of linear Adsorption. To solve this model is used the Finite Volumes Methods in axisimmetrical curvilinear coordinates, using a scheme of cen1ra1 differences to approximate the diffused terms and a scheme WUDS for the convective terms. By means of this program is obtained the
distnbution of solute concentration in the liquid phase, the distribution of solute concentration in the solid phase, the profile of pressures in the fluid and the field of flow inside the domain. The obtained results are compared with theoretical values reported by others investigators and with experimental datas, obtaining a satisfactory agreement.
