Análisis por Elementos Finitos del Coeficiente de Fricción en un Modelo Poro-Elastohidrodinámico de Junta Sinovial

Abstract


The results of the simultaneous solution of the equations of synovial joint Poro-elastohydrodynamic model, obtained by a computational technique based on Galerkin-Finite Element method are presented; this technique has allowed to extend the range of explored values of the cartilage porosity in relation to other solution techniques. The results shows a reduction in the friction factor as the porosity parameter increases; at the same time a selflubrication effect arises owing to cartilage exudation which provides almost the total fluid necessary to permit the joint lubrication.
