Simulación de Eventos con Mef en Problemas Sísmicos

Abstract


This paper describes an application of the finite element method (FEM), by means of the non-linear processor Accupak/VE of Algor. The particular type of analysis used, named Mechanical Event Simulation (MES), performs linear and non-linear, static and dynamic finite element stress analysis. An experiment in a seismic simulator is reproduced,
showing the utility of employing this tool as a complement of conventional methods of analysis.
