Aproximaciones Polinómicas en Problemas Termoelásticos de Placas
Abstract
The present paper deals with the solution of thermoelastic bending of this rectangular plates, of slightly varying thickness with edgas elastically restrained against rotation in two opposite edges when small-deflection theory is use, and stress resultante in the middle plane are negleoted.
The problem is attacked using polynomial coordinate functions whic identically satisfy the governing boundary conditions and the Ritz technique to determine the plate response.
This approach was motivated by the mathematical analogy between the thermoelastic transverse behaviour of a rectangular clamped plate of uniform thickness and the thermoelastic plane stress situation in a rectangular plate with stress-free edges which has been solved in a straightforward using polynomial approximations.
