Convección en Cavidades Parcialmente Abiertas a Espacios Grandes

Abstract

The transient natural convection that occurs through a window between a room and the outside, originated on temperature differences -imposed as a step change on the left wall- is investigated numerically. For the steady state, the form of the dependence Nu = Nu(Ra) for Pr~0(1) has been found by means of scale analysis.
It predicts the Nu at first order and it takes in account the geometry of the window.
These results compares well with the ones obtained in numeric form. It is also studied the temporal evolution of the flow and its influence on the local and mean Nu over the hot wall.
