Abstract

Stereolitography is one of the techniques used in rapid prototyping processes. It has a great industrial interest because it provides time saving respect to traditional manufacturing processes. One of the main sources of error in the final dimensions ofthe prototype is the curl distortion effect. The analysis ofthese process is made into the BRITE/EURAM proyect "Development of rapid prototyping technologies based on laser sintering" Nr. BR-5478, in conjunction with the Politecnico di Torino and the Stuttgart University. To do this, the ·SLAP· program was development. This program uses the finite element method. In this article, two aplications examples, and a brief descriptrion of the program are presented.
