Abstract

Prediction of the non-linear response of structures under severe earthquakes are necessary to carry out a comprehensive seismic design.
Due to economical considerations buildings are allowed to behave beyond their elastic limit.
This paper presents a simple process to predict the overall Force-lateral displacement response of a frame structure by means of a step-by-step aplication of a linear elastic analysis.
