Método Multigrilla y Refinamiento Adaptivo en Problemas Elípticos Discretizados por el Método de los Elementos Finitos

Abstract


Multigrid and adaptive refinement techniques are powerful tools in the solution of problems arising from fluid mechanics. In structured grids the number of numerical operations needed in the resolution via the multigrid method id of the order of the number at degrees of freedom, regardless the dimensionality of the problem. In this work, original techniques for data storage in tree-like structures are developed, simplifying access to the information. The use of error indicators in the adaptive refinement stage is discused. Finally, numerical examples are
presented.
