Algoritmo de Paso Variable para Sistemas de Segundo Orden

We analyze variable-step time integration algorithms to solve systems of differential / algebraic equations (DAE). Two algorithms are tested: the Gladwell and Thomas scheme [4,5], with an error estimation based on comparing results given by two algorithms of different order, and the Hilber, Hughes and Taylor's one, determining the integration error from an estimation of higher order derivatives. Some numerical examples are shown, giving a comparison between the perfomances of both algorithms.
