Desarrollos en el Método de Volúmenes Finitos Aplicado a la Resolución de las Ecuaciones de Navier-Stokes

Axel Larrateguy, Pablo Carrica, José Converti

Abstract

A Finite Volume Method for the solution of the Navier-Stokes equations is described. A new shape function is proposed. Due to the presence of an adjustable parameter in its definition a whole family of shape functions is obtained. An earlier approache of another author is included as a particular case. Automatic evaluarion of this free parameter is used.
Numerical results are obtained for problems involving very different flow conditions. It is found that, unlike earlier approaches, many flow conditions can be solved with the new shape function. It can be concluded that this improvements considerably increase the range of applicability of the Finite Volume Method.
