Análisis de Placas de Espesor Moderado Mediante Elementos Finitos

The formulation and numerical studies for a plate
element including transverse shear, initially proposed by
other authors, are presented. The element studied uses different orders of interpolation for displacements (quadratic functions) and rotations (linear functions), and only requires Cº continuity. The numerical results obtained are satisfactory for moderately thick plates, but the convergence characteristics are not so good in very thin plates.
