Abstract

A vorticity-stream function, based on similarity variables, is used for the inverse integration of the boundary-layer equations for either separated flows or flows before separation. This formulation eliminates the unknown pressure distribution from the governing equations and ensures a simplified numerical transition from the direct
to the inverse mode. Another feature of the model is the establishment of simple relationship between the stream function and the prescribed displacement thickness for the separated region. The adopted numerical procedure is the Keller Box Method, wffich is implicit, unconditionally stable and second order accurate. The model is applied with success to the test cases proposed by Carter, considered by Cebeci et. al. as the most severe teste available on the literature.
