Ajuste De Perfiles De Velocidad Para Flujo En Tuberías

Ricardo A. Prado, Axel E. Larreteguy

Abstract

A finite series composed of polynomic and hiperbolic terms is proposed as a fit for
the radial profiles of axial velocities in pipe flows. Comparisons against experimental and
numerical results from other authors prove the proposed fit to be a more-than-reasonable
approximation for steady or transient and for laminar or turbulent flows. It is particularly
adequate for evaluating transient wall shear stresses, and consequently, for evaluating
transient friction losses. Besides the value these results may have on its own, the proposed fit
is mainly intended to further improve a general numerical scheme for pressure transients in
pipe flows presented by the authors in previous papers2,3.
