Dedicacisn Exclusiva en la Facultad de Ingenierma de la Universidad de
Buenos Aires, Av. Paseo Colsn 850, Buenos Aires, para enseqanza de materias
de fmsica y para trabajar en investigacisn en temas de mecanica
computacional dentro del Laboratorio de Mecanica Computacional perteneciente
al Departamento de Fmsica de esa Facultad.

The Conference on Impact Loading of Lightweight Structures is a continuation
of three previous conferences on Structural Crashworthiness, held at the
University of Liverpool in 1983, Structural Failure, held at M.I.T in 1988
and Structural Crashworthiness and Failure, held again in Liverpool in 1993.
Since then, the field of structural impact has made important advances so
that a new meeting with the major researchers in the world in the field of
structural impact is important and timely. The conference will be held in
May 2005, this time in Florianspolis, which is in the south of Brazil.
The accepted papers will be published in a book. Plenary papers will be
published in a special issue of the International Journal of Impact
Engineering and in the Latin American Journal of Solids and Structures, both
available at the meeting. Extended manuscripts may be published later in
special issues of these journals.

Tenemos varias novedades y recomendaciones para ir organizando tanto
la publicacion de las actas como la venida al congreso.
* Ya esta disponible el formato de los articulos completos
(http://200.0.233.51/enief/plazos.html). ES IMPORTANTE QUE EL ARCHIVO
QUE ENVIEN TENGA COMO NOMBRE EL CODIGO DEL TRABAJO, el cual esta
disponible en "resumenes aceptados" en la pagina web , con extension
".pdf''. y asimismo seria conveniente que consignen como asunto del
mail el codigo del trabajo (Ejemplo: Asunto: envio articulo codigo:
JPerez2, y consecuentemente adjuntar el archivo JPerez2.pdf).
Manden los articulos lo antes posible, ya que el proceso de referato
requiere tiempo. Esperamos que las Sesiones Invitadas manden sus
articulos ya listos para publicar (incluido referato, formateo, etc.)
para el 11 de agosto. Los articulos de sesiones ordinarias tienen esa
misma fecha limite pero, insistimos, cuanto antes mejor.
* Por favor preinscribanse, el formulario pueden encontrarlo en

muy importante para nosotros porque tenemos que definir temas tales

We have some news and recommendations for a better organization for
the proceedings publication and the congress venue.
The form for the complete articles is right now available in:

ITS IMPORTANT TO SEND THE FILE WITH the same name of YOUR abstract's
CODE ( which is available from the web page following the link "
accepted abstracts") with a pdf extension. Also refer to the code in
the Subject of the mail. Example. Subject: Submitting article
JSmith2. The attached file in this case should be JSmith2.pdf.
Please consider that the review process requires time, therefore
please send your articles asap. We expect to have the invited sessions
articles ready (including formatting and reviewing) by August 11. The
same deadline applies for regular article submissions, but please try
to send the articles well before the deadline.

important to know in advance the total of participants to foresee some
organizational items such as farewell dinner, coffee-breaks, etc.
We also strongly recommend to book the hotel and flight tickets with

As a follow-up of our previous mail of May, this is to give information
about the benchmark event in the topic "Joints and Interfaces" that has =

organized within Task Group 2.3 of the EC-Network NW-IALAD ("INTEGRITY
ASSESSMENT OF LARGE CONCRETE DAMS" - http://nw-ialad.uibk.ac.at/ )
This benchmark exercise is open to participation of all groups =
interested,
and is organized as follows:
- The problems proposed are posted on the web page:

- They cover most major aspects of interfaces in dams, including
constitutive behavior under quasistatics, cyclic, flow and coupled =
behavior
and fully applications to dam calculation.

- In a subsequent mail, and also on the web site, it will be indicated =
in
which format the results should be submitted.
- Recaptation of results from participants is expected through August,
