Computers & Structures Announcement
K. J. Bathe Award for the best paper by a young researcher in the field of
Computational Engineering
Computers & Structures is pleased to announce that the first K.J. Bathe
Award will be made during the World Congress of the International
Association for Computational Mechanics to be held in Venice during July
2008.
This award is given to mark the outstanding contributions made by
Professor K.J. Bathe over many years to the field of Computational
Engineering. The award will be given to an author of the best paper
published in Computers & Structures in the years 2006 and 2007.
The K.J. Bathe Award includes a certificate and 2,000 Euros donated by the
publishers of Computers & Structures, Elsevier Ltd. The author should be
under the age of 40 on January 1, 2008. In future, the K.J. Bathe Award
will be made every two years during the World Congresses of the
International Association for Computational Mechanics.
Applications
Authors who satisfy the age criteria should contact Professor Barry
Topping (mailto:editor en bhvt.org.uk) by December 31, 2007 if they wish to
be considered for the award. Where a paper has more than one author and
the applicant is not the first author, the part contributed by the
applicant is to be clearly indicated and certified by the other authors of
the paper.
Selection Procedure
An international panel chaired by Prof. Barry Topping will select the
winner. The panel's decision is final.
