Dear Colleagues,

I would like to draw your attention to some interesting openings for
researchers in computational mechanics within the strategic research
department of DNV (DNV Research and Innovation), see attached
announcement (below).
I would appreciate very much if you could forward this to research students
or other co-workers that think might be interested in applying for the
positions. Note that the applications should be made electronically in
accordance with the information on the announcement.

Thanking you in advance,

Sincerely,

Pål G, Bergan

Research Positions in Computational Mechanics

Det Norske Veritas Research and Innovation

DNV Research and Innovation is building a strong research team on “The next
generation methods and tools in computational mechanics”. We are looking
years ahead and we are taking on the challenge of identifying methods and
tools that have the greatest potential for enhancing our analysis
capabilities within structural analysis, computational fluid dynamics, and
fluid-structure interaction. This implies that we want to assess methods and
algorithms including techniques that have not yet reached the commercial
market, considering also the new capabilities and power of the “next
generation” computers. In this connection cooperation with leading
universities and research institutions is essential. Further, we want to test
out and benchmark the new techniques for a wide range of important problems
that DNV is concerned with. On this basis we will make recommendations for
further investments into methods and tools to be implemented in the future.

We are looking for people with a strong educational background in
computational mechanics (structures and/or fluids). Having a PhD as well as
some research experience is preferable.
