Earth crust mechanics. The positions are associated with the Institute
for Computational Engineering and Sciences (ICES) and the Institute
for Geophysics, Jackson School of Geosciences of the University of
Texas at Austin. The successful applicant must have completed a Ph.D.
in geophysics, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related
discipline, with a proven capacity for world-class research that is
reflected in a publication record.

Experience in some of the following areas is desirable: large
deformation solid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics,
geomechanics, elasto-plasticity, continuum mechanics (Lagrangian,
Eulerian and arbitrary-Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) descriptions of
motion), high-performance computing, computational geometry, numerical
analysis.

Interested applicants should send a detailed CV, along with a list of
publications, and at least three letters of recommendation preferably
