CADLM INTELLIGENT OPTIMAL DESIGN PRIZE 2010

With the support of some companies, CADLM has established the OPTIMAL DESIGN
Prize to honour young researchers of outstanding merit in this field. The
Intelligent Optimal Design Prize, consists of a certificate and a cash prize
of 1 000 euros.
The fifth prize will be awarded during the

The Fourth Workshop on Reliable Engineering Computing (REC2010)
"Robust Design - Coping with Hazards, Risk and Uncertainty"
March 3-5, 2010 | Singapore
http://www.eng.nus.edu.sg/civil/REC2010/index.cfm

The prize winner will be asked to present his paper in an Invited Lecture
during the workshop.

Candidates, not older than 45, should be the authors of one paper meeting the
objectives of CADLM, i.e. to promulgate the advancement of the intelligent
multidisciplinary robust optimal design by disseminating knowledges of
sciences and technologies among industries.

HOW TO APPLY
Applicants for the CADLM Optimal Design Prize 2010 must submit the following
to the CADLM Secretariat no later than October 1, 2009 :
- Scientific Curriculum Vitae
- List of publications
- Original scientific paper dealing with robust optimal design and related
topics (max. 32 pages)
- Two letters of recommendation.

Here is the official Call for papers

THE SELECTION
An international committee, will assess the papers and submitted documents.
Based on its assessments, CADLM will appoint the winner.

4th Workshop on Reliable Engineering Computing (REC2010)
“Robust Design – Coping with Hazards, Risk and Uncertainty”
March 3-5, 2010 | Singapore

Call for papers

The 4th International Workshop on Reliable Engineering Computing is hosted by
National University of Singapore. Industry and Academia are invited to
contribute and to
join in the discussions on needs and developments in the field.
REC2010 is focused on robust design in the context of hazards, risk and
uncertainty.
Industry and academia are invited to contribute and to join in the discussions
on needs
and developments in the field.
This workshop is unique in combining computer science, mathematics, and
engineering
analysis and design to discuss the reliability of engineering computations,
providing a
common forum by which to continue cross-disciplinary advisements in the field.
Participants are expected to submit papers that will be published in the
workshop
proceedings and also will be available online from the workshop web site.
After the
workshop, selected papers will be published in a special issue(s) of a
selected journal.
The papers will go through the normal refereeing process.
Topics include but are not limited to:
- robust design, reliability-based design, performance-based design
- risk analysis, hazard analysis, risk and hazard mitigation
- management and processing of uncertainties
Herein, design is understood in a broad sense and may concern structures,
systems,
processes, algorithms, etc.
Methods and theories may include traditional statistics and probability
theory, Bayesian
theory, imprecise probabilities, evidence theory, p-box approach, fuzzy
probability
theory, interval analysis, fuzzy set theory, convex modeling, information gap
theory, etc.
Contributions are invited with emphasis on both theory and applications.
Deadlines:
July 01, 2009: one page abstract submission
July 15, 2009: notification of acceptance
November 01, 2009: paper submission
Templates for abstract and paper preparation will be provided soon. Use of the
templates is a condition for acceptance. All papers must be written in
English.
