The Institute for Geophysics, University of Texas at Austin invites
applications for a postdoctoral position to conduct research at the
intersection of geomechanics, geophysics and computational science. We
are seeking to develop a 3D geodynamic modeling code to study the
processes of lithospheric deformation. The tasks will include the
deployment of phase boundary tracking and conservative remeshing of an
unstructured mesh. The code will be used to study the development of
continental rifting in 3D. Familiarity with C/C++ and OpenMP are
strongly desired. Requirements: Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geodynamics,
Applied Mathematics, Computational Sciences, or Engineering Mechanics.
The position is available immediately and will be opened until filled.
The appointment is for 1 year with a possible extension to 3 years
upon agreement of both parties. Inquiries may be directed via email to
Dr. Lavier (luc en utig.ig.utexas.edu) or Dr. Calo
(victor.calo en kaust.edu.sa).
