Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to submit an abstract to the EUROMECH Colloquium 543,
which will be held at Technische Universität München from October 10-11,
2013.
The single-session colloquium will take place on the science campus in
Garching bei München (German known as "Garching Forschungszentrum"), which
is located about 10 km north of Munich. Subway U6 connects directly to the
center of the town (Marienplatz) from where all suburban lines connect and
leave town (including S1 and S8 offering direct connection to Munich
International Airport). Detailed travel information is available on the
colloquium website (http://euromech543.aer.mw.tum.de/).
Campus Garching is home to the faculties of Physics, Chemistry, Informatics,
Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering, as well as the Garching Max Planck
Institutes.
The subject of the colloquium is interdisciplinary. It involves physical and
numerical modeling of flows over a wide range, reaching from micro to
atmospheric flows.
To make it concise in the sense of a EUROMECH colloquium it is planned to
focus on Uncertainty Quantification in micro-fluidics, interfacial flows,
and shock interactions. Methods for uncertainty propagation and
quantification are driven by applied and numerical mathematics. It is the
explicit wish also to disseminate Uncertainty Quantification techniques into
the fluid mechanics community, so that contributions of incipient work of
groups new to the field is explicitly welcome, given a high level research
background of the groups in other fields.
Two leading researchers in the field will be invited to deliver keynote
lectures at the beginning of each day.
For details on scope and subject, submission and important dates please
refer to the colloquium website: http://euromech543.aer.mw.tum.de/
We would appreciate if you could also forward this information to your
colleagues who may be interested in this colloquium, and encourage them to
submit abstracts to the colloquium.
Thank you in advance for your support, and we look forward very much to
welcoming you in Munich this coming October.
Sincerely,
