Dear college, 

 The International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) is offering a scholarship to pursue a PhD mainly focused on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The candidate will be enrolled in the Doctoral Programme of Structural Analysis of the Polytechnic University of Catalunya (UPC),   

Description of Work 

The candidate will work on the development of CFD codes suitable for the analysis of multi-fluid flows and Fluid Structure Interaction algorithms.  The task consists on developing numerical strategies to tackle this problem within the KRATOS Mutiphysics framework. Parallelization is highly desired to take advantage of High-Performance Computing (HPC) facilities. 

  Candidate Profile

Bachelor in Engineering / Physics / Mathematics.
Master in Civil, Mechanical, or Aeronautical Engineering or in Computational Mechanics OR at least 60 credits from a Masters Degree.
Programming knowledge. The candidate will work with C++ and Python.
Preferred: Good English knowledge.

  Offer

A PhD in Structural Analysis of the UPC will be obtained.
To be agreed in terms of dedication and previous experience
Funding is limited to 4 years.
