CILAMCE - Congresso Ibero Latino Americano de Métodos Computacionais em Engenharia

CILAMCE is the anual conference on computational mechanics organised by the Brazilian association of computational mechanics (ABMEC).
Cilamce has been organised annually since 1977. This period corresponds to a period a large investments in Brasil in civil engineering structureswhich encouraged the forming of study groups in the area of finite elements.Traditionally the conference has attracted a large part of the Brazilian community in computational mechanics. It is oriented towards the developmentand application of numerical techniques applied to engineering problems.
The congress has alternated countries between Brasil and Latin (American) Countries such as Argentina, Portugal, Spain and Italy. This year the congress is organised in Paris under coordination of Prof. Adnan Ibrahimbegovic. We
 expect over 300 participants in the 2018 edition of the congress
Prof. Chensong Zhang and Philippe Devloo are organising a workshop on the numerical simulation of Discrete Fracture Networks.
This workshop will create an oportunity for researchers that develop research in the area of the numerical simulation of discrete fracture networks (DFN) to share their experience and report the progress made in simulating DFN and/or
 develop numerical techniques to that end.The organizers encourage participants to submit contributions to the mini symposium within the following areas of interestThe numerical modeling of DFNMultiscale simulation related to DFNDouble porosity models geared towards the modeling of embedded fracturesGeomechanics coupling related to the modeling of fracture conductivityModel adjustment of reservoir simulations whose productivity is determined by the presence of fracturesMesh generation issues - adaptivityParallel computing - cloud computingWe expect an extended (4 page) abstract by the new (final) deadline, so that we can deliver on our promise for abstract acceptance date. For full-size papers, we plan to start collecting immediately after all abstract arrived.
