Cálculo das Configuraςões de Equilíbrio de Estruturas Unidimensionais pelo Método de Tiro

Abstract

The equilibrium of an elastic rod is described by a two-point boundary value problem (linear or not). In the present paper we consider a numerical technique, known as "simple shooting method", for solving those problems.
As an exemple, the method has been tested by applying it to a problem involving large deformations of an elastic extensible arc.
