Numerical Optimization of Reinforced Laminated Panels Under Compression
Abstract
This article presents a new methodology for structural optimal pre-sizing of reinforced laminated composite panels under compression, based on a proposal for optimal sizing of integral machined metal panels. Collapse stresses and structural efficiency are taken into account in the analysis of the panel stability. Numerical examples are developed and compared with finite element results to show the applicability of the methodology.
