Abstract

This technical work focused on the modeling, simulation, and validation of compression testing applied to plastic packaging. These tests enabled the evaluation of the structural strength of the packaging under simulated compression loads that could occur during storage, transportation, or use. Additionally, they assisted designers in optimizing the geometry and material of the packaging to ensure its strength and durability. The physical tests conducted were crucial for refining the numerical simulation based on the assigned material properties and addressing failure modes observed during compression testing. This ultimately allowed for the rapid evaluation of the response to compression in redesigned packaging, providing valuable insights for the ongoing development and enhancement of plastic packaging.
