Job Title:
Post-Doctoral Fellow

Academic Field:
Computational Mechanics: Modeling and Simulation of Glacier and Earth
crust Mechanics and Granular Flows

Duration:
Two years


Job Requirements and Description:

The successful applicant must have completed a Ph.D. in geophysics,
civil engineering, mechanical engineering, applied mathematics, or a
related discipline, with a proven capacity for world-class research
that is reflected in a publication record. In particular, good
technical writing skills are fundamental.

Experience in some of the following areas is desirable: large
deformation solid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics,
geomechanics, elasto-plasticity, continuum mechanics (Lagrangian,
Eulerian and arbitrary-Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) descriptions of
motion), high-performance computing, computational geometry, numerical
analysis.


The successful applicant will be involved in the publication of the
research results including journal publications and conference
presentations. Furthermore, the successful applicant may be expected
to assist in the supervision of any graduate research assistants.


Salary and Benefits:
Remuneration will be competitive, and commensurate with the
applicant's qualifications and experience. In addition, the
appointment includes the following benefits:
(i) Fully-furnished housing (including utilities) is provided at no
cost to the postdoctoral fellow,
(ii) Annual travel allowance is provided, (iii) Relocation allowances
are provided at the beginning of contract,
(iv) health insurance is provided,  and
(v) one month per year of paid vacation leave.

stabilized finite element methods, Variational multiscale modeling,
Arbitrary-Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) descriptions of motion,
high-performance computing, computational geometry, numerical
analysis.


The successful applicant will be involved in the publication of the
research results including journal publications and conference
presentations. Furthermore, the successful applicant may be expected
