Post-doctoral Fellow in Computational Material Design

Fundacion CIMNE Latinoamérica (FCL) opens a number of positions  
for post-doctoral grants. The fellows should perform computational
mechanics research 
in the field of computational material design, in the 
Computational Material Design group at CIMEC 
(Centro de Investigación en Mecánica Computacional) in Santa Fe, 
Argentina ( http://www.cimec.org.ar/twiki/bin/view/Cimec/ ).

Description

The research group of Computational Material Design at CIMEC
is conducting a colaborative project with the
International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering
(CIMNE) at Barcelona, Spain, and Fundación CIMNE Latinoamérica in the context of the project 
COMP-DES-MAT ( http://www.compdesmat.com/ ) founded by the European
Research Council (ERC). This research is based on three concepts: 
(1) multiscale material analysis, 
(2) shape and topological optimization of micro and macrostructures
(3) reduced order models with application to multiscale models.
The open position is related to computational aspects
covering these topics.

Position

The responsibilities of the position include successful research 
in the field of computational material design in terms of new 
theoretical models, computational methods and algorithms. 

The postdoc position is for one year extensible to two years. During this period,
the candidate would be impeled to present his candidature to the 
research career of Conicet (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones 
Científicas y Tecnológicas, Argentina). Then, publication of 
scientific results should be a priority of the postdoc research work.

In this context, cooperation with european research groups will be
emphasized.

Education

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computational Solids Mechanics:
Expericence in research fields related to multiscale material analysis 
or shape-topological optimization would be preferred, together with 
good skills for in-house code programming.

Salary

It should be equivalent to a postdoctoral grant in CONICET.
However, this amount could be substantially improved in terms of 
aptitude, skill and background of the candidate.
