The use of tuned liquid dampers is presented as an attractive alternative for reducing the vulnerability of civil structures subjected to seismic action due to their simplicity and practicality in the manufacturing, installation and maintenance stages. On the other hand, an implementation proposal, called High Frequency Tuned Liquid Damper, has been recently developed, which allows making the mentioned control devices effective in low period or dynamically stiff structures. In the present work, the ability of this new device to reduce the fragility of a relatively high frequency structure is numerically evaluated through a series of seismic analyses, demonstrating the effectiveness in controlling the dynamic response of the analyzed structure.
